Why am I still blogging in 2023?
The main reason is that I do not feel secure with other social media platforms. My content could be removed at any moment, and my data is stored on someone else’s servers. These social media platforms are quite likely to collapse within my lifetime.
Most of them don’t provide an easy way for me to download and organize all my data at once.
I might be able to download years’ worth of posts and photos, but the format would be chaotic. It would take a significant amount of time to sort out everything – time that I don’t wish to spend.
Not to mention, sometimes I just want to say a few words. But once I start writing, I might get distracted by others’ comments.
Blogging lets me focus. I can use blog writing to voice my thoughts, organize my thinking, and not worry about distractions keeping me away.
Many ideas drift through my head. Because of distractions from social media, I often can’t even write a 1000-word article to arrange my thoughts and output them into a clean and organized structured essay.
